PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable paper diaper where side leakage prevention effect is excellent and efficiency of body liquid absorption on the surface of an absorber is improved, and which is surely fitted to the hips of a wearing person.
SOLUTION: Solid gathers BS are formed of: standing fringe portions 20 which are positioned on the side of a lower layer at the side edges of the absorber 3 and in the vicinity thereof and continuous nearly in the longitudinal direction of the diaper by joining sections joined with a liquid-permeable top sheet 2 and nonwoven-fabric gathers 4 extending with the standing fringe portions 20 as proximal ends. At the end on the side of the front body F, the solid gathers BS are folded inward and fixed by fixation parts 21 formed on the relatively inner side of the standing fringe portions 20. At the end on the side of the back body B, the solid gathers BS are folded outward and fixed by fixation parts 22 formed on the relatively outer side of the standing fringe portions 20.
