Provided is a novel hemoglobin-albumin complex, the oxygenated form of which is highly stable, and which has high biocompatibility and is easy to prepare (synthesize). Also provided are an artificial plasma expander and an artificial oxygen carrier, each containing the complex. This hemoglobin-albumin complex is characterized by containing hemoglobin as a core and albumin as a shell bound to the hemoglobin via a crosslinking agent.
