PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentration apparatus and a concentration method capable of inexpensively and stably providing concentrated liquid having a predetermined concentration ratio.SOLUTION: A concentration apparatus 1 comprises a membrane distillation cell 10 having a first chamber 10a through which a raw liquid flows and a second chamber 10b partitioned from the first chamber 10a with a porous membrane 11, a heater 20 that heats the raw liquid, a cooler 40 that cools the second chamber 10b, pressure adjustment means 70 that changes the pressure of the first chamber 10a or the second chamber 10b to adjust the pressure difference between the first chamber 10a and the second chamber 10b, and a control part 80, where the control part 80 controls the heater 20 and the cooler 40 to a predetermined temperature range and controls the pressure adjustment means 70 so that the amount of the concentration liquid of the second chamber 10b becomes a predetermined amount. The concentration method comprises adjusting, in the membrane distillation cell 10, temperature of the porous membranes on the first chamber side and the second chamber side so that there is a predetermined temperature difference between both of the porous membranes and adjusting, in the membrane distillation cell 10, pressure difference between the first chamber and the second chamber so that the amount of the concentration liquid becomes a predetermined amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】所定の濃縮率の濃縮液を低コスト且つ安定的に得ることができる濃縮装置及び濃縮方法を提供する。【解決手段】濃縮装置1は、原液が流される第1室10aと、蒸気を選択的に透過する多孔質膜11によって第1室10aから隔てられた第2室10bと、を有する膜蒸留セル10と、原液を加熱する加熱器20と、第2室10bの冷却を行う冷却器40と、第1室10a又は第2室10bの圧力を変化させて第1室10aと第2室10bとの間の圧力差を調整する圧力調整手段70と、制御部80とを備え、制御部80は、加熱器20と冷却器40とを所定の温度範囲に制御し、第2室10bの凝縮液の量が所定量となるように圧力調整手段70を制御する。濃縮方法は、膜蒸留セルにおいて、多孔質膜の第1室側と第2室側とを所定の温度差に調温し、凝縮液の量が所定量となるように第1室と第2室との間の圧力差を調整する。【選択図】図1
