PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper having excellent fitting property around the waist and the hip and excellent leakage preventing property, and also to provide a method for producing such disposable diapers efficiently.
SOLUTION: A substantially longitudinal absorbent article is provided which is provided with a liquid permeable surface sheet (2), a leakage preventing sheet (3), an absorber (6) having liquid holding property, and fastening tapes (9) arranged on right and left sides. In the absorbent article (1), elastic barrier sheets (7) are arranged in the longitudinal direction of the absorbent article between the surface sheet (2) and the leakage preventing sheet (3) on the sides with the fastening tapes (9) and elastic barrier sheets (7) are also arranged between the surface sheet (2) and the absorber (6) on waist parts. The elastic barrier sheets (7) are made by sandwiching and holding a plurality of elastic members (13 and 14) between water repellent nonwoven fabrics (11 and 12).
