PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means used in folding an absorbent article comprising an absorbent body provided with through parts, for maximally preventing the through parts from being blocked, thereby inhibiting deterioration in absorbing ability of the absorbent body.SOLUTION: A method comprises: a bending step of bending in the length direction an absorbent article 2 into two pieces along a bending line L such that a first region 19 and a second region 20 lie on each other； a compression step of compressing the bent absorbent article 2 in a direction in which the first region 19 and the second region 20 are pressed together, pressing, into first portions 14a, 15a of through parts, an absorbent body 12 in through-part non-present portions 20a of the second region 20, and pressing, into second portions 14b, 15b of the through parts, the absorbent body 12 in through-part non-present portions 19a of the first region 19, thereby folding the absorbent article 2 into a thickness which is less than twice the thickness of the absorbent article 2； and a conveyance step of conveying the folded absorbent article 2 while pressing the first region 19 and the second region 20 of the absorbent article 2 together.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1【課題】吸収体に貫通部を備えた吸収性物品を折り畳むに際して、その貫通部が塞がれるのをできるだけ抑止し、吸収体の吸収能力の低下を抑えることができる手段を得る。【解決手段】吸収性物品２を、折り曲げ線Ｌにおいて、第１領域１９と第２領域２０とが重複するように長さ方向に２つに折り曲げる折曲工程と、折り曲げた吸収性物品２を、第１領域１９と第２領域２０とが圧接する方向に圧縮して、貫通部の第１部分１４ａ，１５ａの内部に、第２領域２０の貫通部非存在部分２０ａの吸収体１２を押し込むと共に、貫通部の第２部分１４ｂ，１５ｂの内部に、第１領域１９の貫通部非存在部分１９ａの吸収体１２を押し込むことにより、吸収性物品２を、その吸収性物品２の厚さの２倍よりも小さい厚さに折り畳む圧縮工程と、折り畳んだ吸収性物品２を、第１領域１９と第２領域２０とを圧接しながら、吸収性物品２を搬送する搬送工程とを実施する。【選択図】図１
