PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus adopting a line-of-sight detection technique, which is improved in user's convenience. SOLUTION: On an operation panel, markers are provided at three or more places for an operator to visually recognize the line of sight for correction. The control unit causes the operator to stop watching the markers in order (S14, S16, S18), and creates the line-of-sight profile information based on the line-of-sight information obtained at that time. The control unit performs the line-of-sight detection based on the created line-of-sight profile information in the line-of-sight input mode in which various functions are executed according to the line of sight of the operator (S23 to S25). The line-of-sight detection performed using the line-of-sight profile information created by the operator staying at three or more markers is more accurate. Therefore, a discrepancy is less likely to occur between the intention of the operator and the operation actually performed by the apparatus, which improves usability as the image forming apparatus.
