To provide an X-ray imaging apparatus facilitating the recognition of a position of a permission button for X-ray irradiation in an X-ray irradiation prohibited state. In an X-ray imaging apparatus 1, a permission button 27 for X-ray irradiation is provided on an operation panel 17 separately from an operation button group 25, and performs switching between a prohibited state in which X-ray irradiation from an X-ray tube is prohibited and a permitted state in which X-ray irradiation from the X-ray tube is permitted. The permission button 27 has visual characteristics different from common visual characteristics of the operation button group 25 in the prohibited state. In this manner, the position of the permission button 27 can be emphasized to notify a user. As a result, even when a user operates the X-ray imaging apparatus 1 for the first time, or he/she is not familiar with the operation, it is easy to recognize the position of the permission button 27 in the X-ray irradiation prohibited state.
