<；P>；PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating and selecting a substance for preventing and treating light skin damage. <；P>；SOLUTION: The method for evaluating and selecting a preventive or healing agent for light skin damage includes (A) a step of contacting a substance to be examined with cells for expressing a TIMP-1 gene or TIMP-1 protein, (B) a step of measuring the expression amount of the TIMP-1 gene or TIMP-1 protein in the cells, (C) a step of comparing the expression amount calculated in the step (B) with the expression amount of a TIMP-1 gene or TIMP-1 protein in a control group in which a substance to be examined is not contacted with cells for expressing a TIMP-1 gene or TIMP-1 protein, and (D) a step of evaluating or selecting a substance to be examined to increase the expression amount of the TIMP-1 gene or TIMP-1 protein as a preventive or healing agent for light skin damage on the basis of the result of the step (C). <；P>；COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
