There is provided a composition or kit of parts comprising: one or morecompounds capable of treating and/or preventingan inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract: and an ironhydroxypyrone, for increasing the level of iron in a patient'sbloodstream and/or treating and/or preventing anaemia such as iron deficiencyanaemia. A composition comprising iron hydroxypyroneis also provided for administration to a subject: having or at risk of havingachlorhydria； wherein the gastric pH ofthe subject is equal to or greater than about 4； or wherein the subject has aninflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract.
