PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting tool for cuttings, a tool that enables a worker to plant vine cuttings of sweet potatoes or the like with normalcy of a standing posture.SOLUTION: A worker stands on the side of a planting ridge and adjusts the planting tool in one hand to a suitable length of touching the ridge with normalcy of a bent elbow. With a cutting inserted in a holding part at the tip end of the tool, and with a lever pulled, the cutting is held and retained therein in the configuration of the planting tool. The cutting so held is faced to the ridge and plunged into the soil of the ridge while the bent elbow is straightened.
