PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of transmitting ultrasonic waves without stopping ultrasonic wave transmission due to an erroneous determination about a driving voltage.

SOLUTION: The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1 includes a storage part 22 for storing the maximum voltage threshold corresponding to setting information, a voltage comparison part 24 for comparing the driving voltage with the maximum voltage threshold and outputting a comparison result, and a control part 23 for setting the driving voltage to a power source 25 for transmission on the basis of the inputted setting information, reading the corresponding maximum voltage threshold from the storage part 22 and setting it to the voltage comparison part 24. The control part 23 outputs a gate signal for inhibiting the transmission of the ultrasonic waves to an ultrasonic signal transmission/reception part 26 for the predetermined time when the setting information is changed, and transmits a gate signal for permitting the transmission of the ultrasonic waves to the ultrasonic signal transmission/reception part 26 when determining that the driving voltage is lower than the maximum voltage threshold on the basis of the comparison result from the voltage comparison part 24 after the lapse of the predetermined time.
