PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoacoustic measurement apparatus in which the operation mode of the apparatus is readily switched.SOLUTION: A probe 11 includes: an acoustic wave transmission unit for transmitting an acoustic wave to a subject a light irradiation unit for emitting light derived from a laser unit 13 to the subject and an acoustic wave detection unit for detecting a photoacoustic wave generated in the subject by the light emitted to the subject, and a reflected acoustic wave to the acoustic wave transmitted into the subject. The probe 11 is provided with a mode selection switch 15.
