PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve through-put of ultrasonic examination in a notebook PC type ultrasonic diagnostic device, an image display device, an image display method and a display method.SOLUTION: A first enclosure includes: a connection part to a pointing device connected to an ultrasonic probe 10 for instructing the operation related to ultrasonic examination. A second enclosure is connected to the first enclosure and provided with a display screen. A display part 22 displays an image display area related to an ultrasonic image and a panel display area where a plurality of switches for instructing the operation related to ultrasonic examination are displayed on a display screen. A device recognition part 32 recognizes whether or not the pointing device is connected to the connection part.
