The present invention relates to a composition for preventing hair loss or promoting hair growth comprising linalool, inonone or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of either thereof and, more specifically, the composition of the present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition, quasi drug, cosmetic composition, and health functional food composition for preventing hair loss or promoting hair growth which not only comprise, as an active ingredient, a natural compound having no side effects even when administered for a long time for hair loss, a chronic disease, but also exhibit an excellent and stable effect on hair growth and hair length growth.
