Die Erfindung betrifft eine wirkstoffhaltige Beschichtung für den Ballon eines Ballonkatheters, einen Ballon eines Ballonkatheters mit der Beschichtung sowie einen Ballonkatheter mit einem solchen Ballon. Die Erfindung betrifft ferner die Verwendung der Beschichtung für einen Ballon eines Ballonkatheters und ein Verfahren zur Beschichtung eines wirkstoffbeschichteten Ballons und zur Erzeugung eines Mittels zur Modifizierung der Abgabe eines auf eine Oberfläche des Ballons eines Ballonkatheters aufgebrachten Wirkstoffs.
