PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a straining device capable of collecting a strained object without a trouble even if the straining device is applied in a straining target having little moisture and high adhesiveness such as sweet potato subjected to softening processing by super heated steam heating.SOLUTION: The straining device includes: a surrounding body surrounding periphery of a strainer container while separated therefrom with an appropriate gap, supported rotatably around a central axis, and being vertical type and including a circular cross sectional inner peripheral surface a scraping member located at a predetermined position along the inner peripheral surface of the surrounding body and scraping off a strained object adhered to the inner peripheral surface following rotation of the surrounding body and a rotation drive mechanism for rotating the strainer container and surrounding body.
