Use of at least an extract derived from Ceratonia siliquaas an active ingredient in a cosmetic composition for repairing tissue, is claimed. Independent claims are included for: (1) an active ingredient that is an extract derived from Ceratonia siliquaincluding oligogalactomannans； (2) a method for obtaining the active ingredient comprising at least one step of enzymatic hydrolysis, or solubilizing powdered seeds of Ceratonia siliquain water, successive enzymatic hydrolysis and/or simultaneously assisting the solubilization of oligogalactomannans, heating to stop the hydrolysis, separating soluble and insoluble phases, and filtering the active fraction rich in oligogalactomannans； and (3) cosmetic composition for repairing the skin, containing 0.01-50% of the active ingredient.
