The steam generator for commercial applications is fed with drinking water (15) through a drip chamber (5). This prevents reverse flow into the drinking water installation. Water is sprayed into the chamber (9) and enters a supply line (3) leading to the entrance (14) to the steam generator. - Steam occupies a space (2) above water in the generator and to an outlet (7) for the steam. The drip chamber has a connection (6) to an air outlet (4) to atmosphere (A) and a condenser (K).
