The present invention addresses the problem of having a pyridine anti-bacterial/anti-fungal agent stably dispersed in a liquid, and having this pyridine anti-bacterial/anti-fungal agent being appropriately applied to fibers, as well as of appropriately imparting anti-bacterial/anti-fungal properties to fibers, without causing any adverse impact even if the agent is used together with processing agents used during processing treatment of the fibers, such as dyes, fabric conditioners, etc. An agent for imparting anti-bacterial/anti-fungal properties is used, said agent containing the pyridine anti-bacterial/anti-fungal agent, a modified polysaccharide having reduced hydroxyl groups, and a wetting agent, and not containing a surfactant and this agent for imparting anti-bacterial/anti-fungal properties is applied to fibers, which are subsequently heat-treated.La présente invention permet de disperser de façon stable un agent antibactérien/antifongique à base de pyridine dans un liquide et à appliquer de façon avantageuse ledit agent antibactérien/antifongique à base de pyridine sur des fibres, ainsi quà conférer de façon tout aussi avantageuse des propriétés antibactériennes/antifongiques à des fibres, sans effets indésirables même si ledit agent est utilisé en même temps que des agents de traitement, tels que des colorants, des conditionneurs de tissu, etc., employés lors du traitement des fibres.
