A method and system for self-sterilizing an automated incubator is disclosed. The internal temperature of the automated incubator is elevated by forcing hot air to flow into the internal incubation chamber, wherein all mechanics and electronics associated with the automated plate mover are outside the internal incubation chamber. During sterilization, the heating system of the automated incubator will force hot air to flow over the internal surfaces of the incubator, thereby reducing contaminating microorganism resistance by inducing dehydration.La présente invention concerne un procédé et un système dauto-stérilisation dune étuve automatisée. Il y a augmentation de la température interne de létuve automatisée suite au passage forcé dair chaud dans lenceinte dincubation interne, tous les mécanismes et systèmes électroniques associés au dispositif automatisé de déplacement des plateaux se trouvant à lextérieur de ladite enceinte dincubation interne. Durant la stérilisation, le système de chauffage de létuve automatisée va forcer de lair chaud à circuler sur les surfaces internes de létuve, ce qui réduit la résistance des microorganismes pathogènes en provoquant leur déshydratation.
