PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for separating blood components facilitating collection of leukocyte components of the blood, allowing even an unskilled person to efficiently perform the collection thereof and capable of improving a collection rate of the leukocyte components, and to provide a method of separating the blood components.SOLUTION: A device 1 for separating blood components includes a blood storage part 2 for storing blood and a capacity adjusting mechanism 3 whereby the capacity of the blood storage part 2 can be adjusted. The blood storage part 2 includes a first storage section 4, a second storage section 5, and a third storage section 6 that is formed between the first storage section 4 and the second storage section 5, and communicated to each of the first storage section 4 and the second storage section 5. The capacity adjusting mechanism 3 is a diaphragm mechanism provided at a lower-end opening of the first storage section 4. The volume of erythrocytes and the volume of blood plasma are calculated on the basis of the hematocrit value and liquid volume of the blood stored in the blood storage part 2. The capacity of the blood storage part 2 is adjusted such that a buffy coat formed after centrifugation separation can be accumulated in the third storage section 6 of the device 1 for separating blood components.COPYRIGHT: (C)2014,JPO&INPIT【課題】血液の白血球成分の回収を、より容易に、かつ、熟練者でなくても効率的に行うことが可能になると共に、白血球成分の回収率をより向上させることが可能となる血液成分分離用装置及び血液成分分離方法を提供する。【解決手段】血液成分分離用装置1は、血液を貯留するための血液貯留部2と、血液貯留部2の容積を調整可能な容積調整機構3とを備えている。血液貯留部2は、第1貯留部4と、第2貯留部5と、第1貯留部4と第2貯留部5との間に設けられ、第1及び第2貯留部4、5のそれぞれと連通する第3貯留部6とを含んでいる。容積調整機構3は、第1貯留部4の下端開口に設けられたダイヤフラム機構である。血液貯留部2内に貯留される血液のヘマトクリット値及び液量から赤血球成分の量、血漿量を計算し、血液貯留部2の容積を、遠心分離後のバフィーコートが血液成分分離用装置1の第3貯留部6に集まるように調整する。【選択図】図1
