A 2 'methyl nucleoside, or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, optionally, in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent, for use in a method of treating hepatitis C virus in a host, wherein the method comprises administering said nucleoside with 2 'methyl or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, optionally, in a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier or diluent, and administer interferon, wherein said 2' methyl nucleoside has caused a mutation in nucleotide 8,443 (from G to C) of the genome of hepatitis C virus or amino acid 282 Serine to Threonine from the RNA polymerase region of hepatitis C virus.Un nucleósido con metilo en 2', o su sal farmacéuticamente aceptable, opcionalmente, en un vehículo o diluyente farmacéuticamente aceptable, para su uso en un método de tratamiento del virus de la hepatitis C en un hospedador, en donde el método comprende administrar dicho nucleósido con metilo en 2' o su sal farmacéuticamente aceptable, opcionalmente, en un vehículo o diluyente farmacéuticamente aceptable, y administrar interferón, en donde dicho nucleósido con metilo en 2' ha causado una mutación en el nucleótido 8.443 (de G a C) del genoma del virus de la hepatitis C o del aminoácido 282 Serina a Treonina de la región de la ARN polimerasa del virus de la hepatitis C.
