The present invention relates to a drug infusion device (100) arranged to receive a replaceable container subassembly (103). The drug injection device 100 includes a front housing 102 and a rear housing 101 connectable to each other. The rechargeable drive mechanism 108 is housed in the rear housing 101 to act on the plunger 14 of the replaceable container subassembly 103 to discharge the drug. The front portion of the needle barrel is slidably disposed in the front housing. The needle protection cap remover 109 is arranged to be connected to the needle protection cap of the replaceable container subassembly and the needle protection cap remover is arranged to be removably inserted into the proximal end of the front housing through the needle guard front.
