The present invention provides a water in oil emulsified sunscreen cosmetic characterized by containing the following components (a) (b) (c) and (d) in the outer phase and by not containing octyl methoxycinnamate octocrylene and avobenzone. Component (a) is a hydrophobized rutile type crystal titanium oxide having an average particle diameter of 30 80 nm component (b) is an iron oxide component (c) is a hydrophobized zinc oxide having an average particle diameter of 20 80 nm and component (d) is a titanium oxide for white pigments the titanium oxide having an average particle diameter of 180 nm or larger. The contents of components (a) (b) (c) and (d) are 5 15 mass% 0.1 10 mass% 5 15 mass% and 0 1.0 mass% respectively. The purpose of the present invention is to provide an water in oil emulsified sunscreen cosmetic to be coated on the face including the periphery of eyes the sunscreen cosmetic being characterized in that irritation to the eyes is minimized and being characterized by exerting a high protective effect against UVB and UVA and excellent make up effect.
