A two-component hair care agent comprising a first component and a second component, the first component and the second component being provided separately from each other, the first component or the second component containing an indicator colored which causes a color change in a pH range of 3 to 6, preferably 3.5 to 5.5, particularly preferably 4 to 5, the first component having a pH in a range of 2 to 4, preferably 2.3 to 3.7, particularly preferably 2.5 to 3.5, and the second component having a pH in a range of more than 4 to 9, preferably 4.5 to 8.5, particularly preferably from 5 to 8. The invention further relates to a method for applying the two-component hair care agent, comprising the step of: mixing the first component and the second constituent so as to obtain a mixture of the first constituent and the s this constituent, and a use of the two-component hair care agent for the care, preferably for conditioning, of keratin fibers, in particular human hair.
