PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly sphygmomanometer which keeps a cuff unit having a cuff section for inserting the upper arm and a mechanism for pressurizing the cuff section and a main unit having a display panel or the like configured separately and independently.SOLUTION: The sphygmomanometer comprises an enclosure 3 having the cuff section 2 for inserting the upper arm, pressurization control sections 21 and 31 for introducing air into and pressurizing the cuff section 2 until the cuff section enters a condition appropriate for blood pressure measurement, detection sections 24 and 32 for detecting information of the blood vessels while the inner pressure of the cuff section 2 is controlled by the pressurization control sections 21 and 31, a determination section 31 for determining the blood pressure value using the blood vessel information detected by the detection sections 24 and 32, and a display section 51 for displaying the blood pressure value determined by the determination section 31. The cuff unit 10 having the enclosure 3 and the pressurization control sections 21 and 31 and the main unit 50 having the display section 51 are configured separately.
