PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a sugar chain which can be supplied for the sugar chain required for manufacturing a protein formulation inexpensively and in a large quantity.SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a sugar chain is characterized by including a sugar chain separation process which separates a sugar chain with which a sialic acid has combined from an egg of an emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae). The method of manufacturing a glycoprotein formulation includes a sugar chain connecting process which combines a sugar chain with a protein, and is characterized by using the sugar chain manufactured by the manufacturing method of a sugar chain as the sugar chain.
