A method for remotely calibrating display of image data is provided. Using aprocessor of the client computer display data are determined. The display dataareindicative of a luminance dynamic range of the display and of an ambientlightingenvironment of the display. The display data are then transmitted to a servercomputer.Using a processor of the server computer display adjustment data aredetermined independence upon the display data. The display adjustment data are thentransmitted tothe client computer. Alternatively, image data for displaying on the displayare received.Adjusted image data are then determined in dependence upon the received imagedataand the display adjustment data and transmitted to the client computer.
