A composition for use in an in vivo diagnostic method of implant loosening in a subject, said composition comprising at least one water soluble polymer and at least one pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein said water soluble polymer is operably linked to the less an imaging agent, wherein said water soluble polymer is a copolymer of N- (2-hydroxypropyl) methacrylamide (HPMA) and wherein the presence of said water soluble polymer at the implant site in said subject is indicative of implant loosening.Una composición para su uso en un método de diagnóstico in vivo de aflojamiento de implante en un sujeto, comprendiendo dicha composición al menos un polímero soluble en agua y al menos un vehículo farmacéuticamente aceptable, en donde dicho polímero soluble en agua está operativamente unido a al menos un agente de obtención de imágenes, en donde dicho polímero soluble en agua es un copolímero de N-(2-hidroxipropil)metacrilamida (HPMA) y en donde la presencia de dicho polímero soluble en agua en el sitio del implante en dicho sujeto es indicativa de aflojamiento de implante.
