A remote controlled medical system for performing a medical procedure at a surgical site includes a remote steering assembly having a plurality of motor-operated surgical arms configured to assist the surgical procedure. A motor-driven surgical arm has a movement limit that defines the boundary that a surgical arm can not pass past when it touches the patient. The remote controlled medical system also includes a control system having a surgical threshold limit stored therein. The surgical threshold limit is the edge of the boundary where surgical cancer will potentially migrate to perform the surgical procedure appropriately.
