The present invention provides a therapeutic agent for lower urinary tract diseases such as cystitis, interstitial cystitis, prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia etc., which are considered as refractory diseases, and an improving agent for lower urinary tract symptoms accompanied with those diseases.A thrombin-like enzyme is used as the therapeutic agent to treat bladder or prostate being the cause of the lower urinary tract diseases, and as the improving agent to improve lower urinary tract symptoms accompanied with those diseases.本發明之課題係提供被視為難治性疾病的膀胱炎、間質性膀胱炎、前列腺炎、前列腺肥大症等下泌尿道疾病的治療劑,以及改善此等疾病所伴隨之下泌尿道症狀的下泌尿道症狀改善劑。本發明之解決手段係使用類凝血酶作為治療劑來治療發生於膀胱或前列腺等的下泌尿道疾病、以及作為改善劑來改善此等疾病所伴隨之下泌尿道症狀。
