A lighted component (12), comprising: a light defined by an inner surface (18) of a surrounding wall (16), having an outer surface (14) and additionally having end wall surfaces (21) , which communicate between said inner surface (18) and said outer surface (14), said lumen being formed of a polymeric material that is flexible, as necessary, for intravenous insertion and displacement; characterized by a surface with titanium (16, 17), which is completely formed on the entirety of said outer surface (14) of said surrounding wall, said surface with titanium (17) also completely covering the entirety of said inner surface (18) ; said titanium surface providing means to increase lubricity and biocompatibility with the body of a patient, into which said catheter is placed; said titanium surface (16, 17) being the only surface completely formed on the entirety of said outer surface and said inner surface, and said titanium surface being composed exclusively of titanium; said surface being with titanium, covering said outer surface, covalently bonded to said outer surface in a first layer, having a thickness that is substantially in a range between 20-60 nm; and keeping said thickness within said range provides a means of maintaining the flexibility of the underlying polymeric material.Un componente con luz (12), que comprende: una luz definida por una superficie interior (18) de una pared circundante (16), que tiene una superficie exterior (14) y, adicionalmente, tiene unas superficies de pared terminal (21), que se comunican entre dicha superficie interior (18) y dicha superficie exterior (14), estando formada dicha luz por un material polimérico que es flexible, según sea necesario, para la inserción y el desplazamiento intravenosos; caracterizado por una superficie con titanio (16, 17), que está formada completamente sobre la totalidad de dicha superficie exterior (14) de dicha pared circundante, cubriendo dicha superficie con titanio (17) también completamente la tota
