PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time for deodorization of AMADOKORO (Polygonatum officinale) essence, when the essence is deodorized by using activated carbon.
SOLUTION: This method for deodorization of an extract from a plant belonging to Polygonatum officinale comprises the following steps: a step where the aqueous solution of the extract from a plant belonging to Polygonatum officinale is provided a step where activated carbon is cast into the aqueous solution in an amount of 25 to 50% based on the aqueous solution a step where a plant extract aqueous solution from a plant belonging to Saxifraga stolonifera is added to the aqueous solution in an amount of 3 to 10% based on the aqueous solution and a step where the resultant mixture including the activated carbon, the extract from a plant belonging to Polygonatum officinale and the extract aqueous solution from a plant belonging to Saxifraga stolonifera is permitted to stand.
