An aerosol type cosmetic hair preparation characterized in that a raw ethanol solution containing 0.1-15 mass% N-methacryloyloxyethyl-N,N-dimethylammonium a-N-methylcarboxybetaine/alkyl methacrylate copolymer and an aerosol propellant comprising a liquefied petroleum gas having an initial internal pressure as measured at 20°C of 0.15-0.2 MPa have been packed in such a mixing proportion that the raw ethanol solution/aerosol propellant ratio by mass is in the range of 40/60 to 50/50. Also provided is an aerosol type cosmetic hair preparation characterized in that a raw ethanol solution containing 0.1-15 mass% polyvinylcaprolactam and an aerosol propellant comprising a liquefied petroleum gas having an initial internal pressure as measured at 20°C of 0.15- 0.2 MPa have been packed in such a mixing proportion that the raw ethanol solution/aerosol propellant ratio by mass is in the range of 40/60 to 50/50. Based on the results of a detailed investigation made again on behaviors of hair-spray users, the hair sprays which can be comfortably used are provided.
