The spectacles, systems and methods for visibility enhancement includes spectacles and a spectacle lens having a liquid crystal cell (LC), the transmission (TR) of which may be varied by a suitable control and the liquid crystal cell (LC) designed so that the transmission (TR) of the liquid crystal cell (LC) may be switched between high and low transmission states. The liquid crystal cell (LC) includes a control for regulating the times of the state of high transmission (Ton) of the liquid crystal cell (LC) such that the temporal position of the times of the high transmission state (Ton) within a period of times of the high transmission state (Ton) and times of the low transmission state (Toff) may be altered continuously or discontinuously; and/or the duration of a period of times of the high transmission state (Ton) and times of the low transmission state (Toff) may be altered continuously or discontinuously. Such changes may be determined by a secret coding key.
