A system includes an electrical interface forcommunicating with a probe, and a processor. The electricalinterface is configured to be inserted into a heart of apatient. The processor is configured to (A) receive from theprobe, via the electrical interface, (i) position-signalsindicative of a position of a distal tip of the probe in theheart, (ii) a contact-force indication indicative of a contactforce exerted on the distal tip, and (iii) anelectrophysiological (EP) measurement acquired by the distaltip at the position, (B) calculate a contact-force vector basedon the contact-force indication received from the distal tip,and (C) based on the position-signals and on the contact-forcevector, estimate a location, on an electro-anatomical map ofthe heart, at which the distal tip touches tissue, and toupdate the electro-anatomical map with the EP measurement,associated with the estimated location.
