PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planter which allows easy transplanting of a seedling, hardly spills out soil, and enables plants to be grown upside down, and to provide a transplanting method.SOLUTION: The planter 10 includes: a container body 20 that is provided with an upper opening 16 and a lower opening 18 in an upper part 12 and a lower part 14, respectively a linear body 22 that changes an opening area of the lower opening 18 and an elastic member 24 that changes the distance between the upper part 12 and the lower part 14.
