The present invention provides methods for treating a subject afflicted with i) Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), ii) early dementia, iii) early a-synucleinopathy, iv) traumatic brain injury, v) cardiomyopathy, vi) eye disease, or vii) skin damage, comprising administering to the subject at least one compound that increases the level of active cathepsin B in cells of the subject, or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or ester thereof, in an amount that is effective to treat the subject. The present invention also provides compositions for treating a subject afflicted with i) Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI), ii) early dementia, iii) early cx-synucleinopathy, iv) traumatic brain injury, v) cardiomyopathy, vi) eye disease, or vii) skin damage.La présente invention fournit des méthodes de traitement d'un sujet souffrant i) d'un trouble cognitif léger, ii ) d'une démence précoce, iii) d'une a-synucléinopathie précoce, iv) d'une lésion cérébrale traumatique, v) d'une cardiomyopathie, vi) d'une maladie de l'œil, ou vii ) d'un dommage cutané, consistant à administrer au sujet au moins un composé augmentant le niveau de cathépsine B active dans des cellules du sujet, ou son sel ou ester pharmaceutiquement acceptable, dans une quantité efficace pour traiter le sujet.
