PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact detection device capable of improving anti-collision performance and contact detection performance: and to provide a medical image diagnostic apparatus.SOLUTION: A contact detection device 7 includes: an expandable and contractable expansion/contraction member 7a an expansion/contraction part 7b expanding and contracting the expansion/contraction member 7a and a contact detection part 7c detecting contact of an object to the expansion/contraction member 7a.
