PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anti-cancer agent, a hypotensive agent, a cardiovascular disease therapeutic agent, a glucose absorption inhibitor and a diabetes preventive agent.SOLUTION: The resveratrol derivative is represented by formula (1). The new resveratrol derivative or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt, ester or ether is excellent in anti-cancer activity, particularly, in anti-oral cancer activity compared with resveratrol, ferulic acid, the already-known resveratrol derivative and luteolins, and thus it is useful as a new anti-cancer agent.
