The biological material has an extra-cellular matrix, where a surface of the biological material is fully or partially covered with a coating comprising a biocompatible inorganic material. The biological material is obtained from pericardial, cardiac, venous and aortic tissue. The coating of the biocompatible inorganic material includes a mean layer with thickness from 10 nm to 100 micrometer, and a target part (3) is fastened on a rotating carousel (2) in a vacuum chamber (1). The target is provided with a laser beam (5) through a window (4) in the vacuum chamber. The biocompatible inorganic material is selected from metal, metal alloy, polymer, ceramic material or amorphous carbon, preferably tantalum, nickel, titanium, nitinol, stainless steel, alloys such as cobalt ally and/or chromium alloy and amorphous carbon e.g. diamond-like carbon. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a coated biological material.
