The invention relates to a method for processing rubbing surfaces of sapphire components. The invention can be used in producing components of plunger-and-barrel assemblies, and also as component parts of pumping and/or dosing devices (pumping/dosing devices), particularly in the pharmaceutical, food, chemical, perfume, cosmetics, mechanical engineering and other fields of industry. A method for processing rubbing surfaces of components made from an artificially-grown α-Аl2Оз-basedcrystal includes manufacturing component preforms from an artificially-grown α-Аl2Оз-based crystal, and mechanically processing the surfaces of the produced preforms using a diamond tool in the presence of cooling liquids, with a gradual decrease in the grain-size of the abrasive. The mechanical processing includes consecutive stages, namely: rough-sanding of the preform surface, medium-sanding of the preform surface until a surface roughness value of Rz=10-20 microns is achieved, and at least one subsequent final non-abrasive treatment of the preform surface using ultrasonic vibrations having a frequency of 21-23 kHz, until a surface roughness of Ra=0,020-0,025 microns is achieved. The technical result of the invention consists in decreasing the friction coefficient of rubbing articles, in decreasing the labor and time required for manufacturing same, and in increasing the hardness and microhardness of the surface layer of the articles.L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement de surface de frottement de pièces en saphir.
