An apparatus and method for treatment of open windows and closed window spinal cord injuries is disclosed. For example, an apparatus and method for alleviating secondary injury to spinal cord primary injury and promoting recovery of spinal cord primary damage is described herein. More particularly, certain embodiments of the present invention are directed to polymeric mini-tubes that can be used for the treatment of spinal cord injury. Still another embodiment is directed to a polymeric "fill-in" bandage that can be used for the treatment of spinal cord injury.
