PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lotion type transparent cosmetic composition excellent in sense of use, free of stickiness, and having excellent detergency.SOLUTION: This cosmetic composition includes mono- or poly-glycerol alkyl or alkenyl ether, or mono- or poly-glycerol alkyl or alkenyl ether and mono- or poly-glycerol fatty acid ester, silicone oil and water, where the content of water is 80 wt.% or more of whole amount of the cosmetic composition. As the mono- or poly-glycerol alkyl or alkenyl ether, mono- or poly-glycerol alkyl or alkenyl ether represented by formula (1): R1O-(C3H6O2)n1-H is preferable.
