PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to improve a users convenience.SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus according to the embodiment includes an imaging unit, picture generation unit, calculation unit, and synthesis unit. The imaging unit receives light of a first type to generate a first electric signal and receives light of a second type to generate a second electric signal. The picture generation unit successively generates a first picture on the basis of the first electric signal and successively generates a second picture on the basis of the second electric signal. The calculation unit calculates a first control parameter value for making the value of brightness of the first picture agree with or approximate to a predetermined value and, on the basis of the first control parameter value and a predetermined ratio, calculates a second control parameter value on brightness of the second picture.
