PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elution reducing material having an excellent function of suppressing elution of a heavy metal or the like and a method for producing the elution reducing material having the excellent function of suppressing the elution of the heavy metal or the like.
SOLUTION: The elution reducing material contains: a lightly-burned product which is obtained by lightly burning a mineral containing magnesium carbonate as a main component and has 5-10 m
2 /g BET specific surface area and 10-20 nm peak radius on a pore size distribution; and magnesium oxide. The method for producing the elution reducing material comprises the steps of: burning the mineral based on magnesium carbonate at 650-1,000°C; finishing the burning to obtain the lightly-burned product when the rate of weight loss due to the burning becomes 9-20%; and adding magnesium oxide to the lightly-burned product to prepare the elution reducing material.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
