PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radioactive decontamination method and a decontamination agent therefor, which are capable of reducing radioactive substances in vast areas of farmland or forest in a short time at a very low cost. ! SOLUTION: In the radioactive decontamination method for radioactively contaminated land and articles, a radioactive decontamination agent including phototrophic bacteria as a main component is sprayed. Microbes like native bacteria absorb radioactive substances to reduce the radioactive substances in cooperation with purple nonsulfur bacteria being the phototrophic bacteria.
