The present invention is directed to a method of preventing cancer or preventing the recurrence of cancer after undergoing a cancer treatment by administering a composition comprising at least one of &gamma-tocotrienol or &delta-tocotrienol, wherein the cancer is selected from the group consisting of melanoma, prostate cancer, prostate intraepithelial neoplasia, colon cancer, liver cancer, bladder cancer, breast cancer and lung cancer. The present invention is further directed to a composition comprising at least one of &gamma-tocotrienol or &delta-tocotrienol and Docetaxel and/or Dacarbazine, and to a method of inhibiting or arresting or reversing of cancer by administering a composition comprising at least one of &gamma-tocotrienol or &delta-tocotrienol together with Docetaxel and/or Dacarbazine.
