In the case of a dental hand instrument (1) having a gripsleeve (2) and also a head housing (9) arranged at thefront end of the grip sleeve (2) for receiving or holding atreatment instrument (4), the head housing (9) has asubstantially cylindrical hollow space (7) which isconnected by way of at least one connecting bore (10, 20)to a connection region pointing to the grip sleeve (2),wherein the connecting bore (10, 20) is coupled, at its endfacing the grip sleeve (2), to a media line (50) extendingthrough the grip sleeve (2), and wherein the inner wallregion (8) of the head housing (9) enclosing the hollowspace (7) has a recess (11, 21) into which the connectingbore (10, 20) opens.
