PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system for plant cultivation and a plant cultivation apparatus, capable of efficiently radiating heat generated from a semiconductor light emitting element and capable of being inexpensively manufactured.SOLUTION: The plant cultivation apparatus 1 includes: a bottom plate 15； supports 16 disposed at least at four corners of the bottom plate 15； a top plate 17 supported by the supports 16； a cultivation container 3 disposed on the bottom plate 15 for growing plants 2； and a plurality of lighting systems 10 hanging from the top plate 17 side. Each lighting system 10 includes a light emitting unit 11 and a cylindrical holder body 12 to which the light emitting unit 11 is attached. The light emitting unit 11 is attached to the holder body 12 in such a way as to be obliquely wound around a shaft of the cylindrical holder body 12. The lighting system 10 further includes a rotation shaft 13 above the shaft of the cylindrical holder body 12.
